The Olympic lifts consist of the clean & jerk and the snatch. These two lifts are, arguably, the most technical barbell lifts. It is our belief that improved capacity in the Olympic lifts will improve performance in nearly every other facet of life. They have a unique ability to teach people how to generate and apply large amounts of force while simultaneously building strength, speed, power, coordination, balance, and flexibility. These are valuable traits for any person.
We offer detailed instruction by multiple USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance coaches, as well as one USA Weightlifting Level 2.
In the sport of powerlifting the goal is simple: lift as much weight as possible. Powerlifting consists of three core lifts: the squat, the bench press, and the deadlift. Performing these lifts on a regular consistent basis will make you stronger, less prone to injury, and (particularly important for women) increase bone density. They also improve posture, sleep, cognitive function, and metabolism (muscle tissue burns more calories – even when you’re at rest – than body fat). An added bonus is that lifting weights helps better prepare people of all ages for everyday activities – carrying groceries, picking a child up from the ground, shoveling snow, sitting down in a chair, zombie apocalypse prep, etc.
All of our powerlifting coaches are USA Powerlifting (USAPL) club coach certified.
